Exciting Developments at Glansevern

Our Story

Our journey began in Africa, where our founder Jem Skelding spent his childhood. ‘Ready-to-use’ products were not easily available, but plants and herbs were in abundance, so his mother Jennifer worked with the resource’s nature provided to hand-craft plant derived remedies rich in natural nutrients for her family. Inspired by his upbringing and the incredible remedies he saw crafted from nature, Jem embarked on his journey to source the most ethical, sustainable and organic plant-based products from all over the world. And so, Naissance was born.

We’re serious about ethical sourcing, so over the last 15 years we’ve built open and honest partnerships with all of our suppliers. By working directly with farmers and cooperatives from all around the world we can ensure the highest quality, sustainability and traceability of all our products.

As such, we only use the highest quality natural ingredients, as part of that, and our continued growth, we now have the beautiful Grade II* listed Glansevern Hall and Gardens. This fantastic location will not only be a source of some of our natural ingredients but also a place for you to get hands on and experience what makes Naissance different.

Hand-crafted Ginkgo Gates open the way to the original walled garden, bursting with flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables and from Spring to Autumn is a haven of colour and scent. The criss-crossing paths lined with flowers and herbs lead to follies and hidden corners where you will find everything from borders of lavender and trees laden with apples to the rich colours and aromas of calendula and roses.

It is from here, surrounded by the rich variety of plants that we take our inspiration for new ideas and products. The former Georgian Brew House is the base for our formulators who work closely with our gardeners to bring the very best nature has to offer, directly from the gardens and into the lab. From sowing and growing to distillation and extraction, we believe this connection and understanding between nature and people is fundamental and at the heart of all our products.

Naissance is driven by a team of passionate people and over the last 15 years we have built open and honest partnerships with all our suppliers. By working directly with the growers and community cooperatives from all around the world we ensure that our ingredients are ethically sourced with a focus on sustainability and traceability.

Rigorous about quality at every stage of our supply chain, our Organic, Vegan, Anti-cruelty and Fair-Trade accreditations with independently, globally recognised bodies demonstrating our authentic commitment to our values, ensuring our customers can place their highest trust in us and our products #LookForTheLogo

Many of our products are also food grade and as well as having an organic food license our facilities have received a 5-star rating from the government Food Standards Agency. From day one, we have focused on providing the highest quality product and excellent service for all our customers and this underpins the industry-leading reputation we have built to this day.

Our standards are incredibly high but believe there’s always room for improvement so are constantly searching for ways in which we can be better. Searching for more ethical and sustainable ways of working to benefit our staff and customers, the communities we work with, and the world in which we live. We firmly believe that all businesses have a responsibility to make a positive impact in the world and on its resources. We strive to create choices to do the right thing for today and for tomorrow and it is this steadfast commitment to doing good for our suppliers, customers, staff, and the world that continues to propel us forward.
